Thermosetting powder coating is suitable for surface coating and decoration of metal (steel or aluminum) items, it is applied to the part or component by electrostatic spraying equipment. In a subsequent curing process, the powder coating is melted and chemically cross-linked at substrate temperatures of 150°C to 200°C.
The raw materials of powder coating are resins, pigments, fillers, harderner ect. Compared with liquid paint, powder coating is environmental friendly and can reduce costs. Powder coating can form a harder finish than conventional paint and can be applied more efficient.
Thermosetting powder coatings are available in three basic types, each offering different performance attributes.
1. Pure Epoxy Powder Coating. Epoxy for the best corrosion protection.
2. Pure Polyester Powder Coating. Polyester for the highest exterior stability and performance.
3. Epoxy-Polyester Powder Coating(Hybrid). Hybrid(s) typically offer the best chemical and solvent resistance.
Polyester powder coating
Thermoset polyester powders are produced on the basis of high grade polyester resin specialized for powder coating production.
The products may provide coating film with toughness and durability, high gloss, good weatherability, especially outdoor exposure durability, heat resistance and excellent anticorrosive and anti-blooming properties.
